Elecbrakes Electric Brake Controller App Makes Towing Easy

If you’ve recently updated your Elecbrakes Android or iOS app you’re going to notice a change for the better. As part of our commitment to ongoing product improvement, we’ve updated the UX design of the app to match the functionality of our popular Elecbrakes Remote Control. Under the improved interface though, the app still has all the diagnostic and configuration options that you know and love.

If you change your phone settings to dark/night mode you’ll see a specially designed night mode screen when you next activate the app, improving your night driving experience. When your device is connected you’ll see a big blue tick. When you apply the tow vehicle brakes, the status icon on the device will change colour to bright red, giving you immediate feedback on the trailer brake response.

Some people use their Elecbrakes system primarily with the Elecbrakes Remote Control. Other users might not have delved into all of the app’s functionalities. Day Mode and Night Mode

Your Elecbrakes app now matches the colour scheme of your phone settings with a new dark mode for an improved night driving experience.

Connection Feedback

Easily see at a glance that your Elecbrakes app is connected to your device with the blue tick of approval. This status symbol means your device is connected and ready to provide smooth proportional braking for your trailer, caravan, boat trailer or horse float.

5 Customisable Braking Programs

Your Elecbrakes unit will always apply the brakes to your trailer in proportion to the degree of pressure you apply to your tow vehicle’s brakes. This means that if you only brake your car very gently, your trailer brakes will also be activated gently. If you press down hard on your brakes, your trailer brakes will have a greater deal of force applied to them. It’s this proportionality which gives you such a smooth and safe braking experience when towing with Elecbrakes.

There may be times that you want to tweak this response however so that the overall sensitivity of your trailer brakes are either decreased or increased. Perhaps you want the brakes to perform differently when towing an empty caravan vs a fully loaded one, or when driving on the open road vs through hilly terrain, or even differ depending on the number of horses in your float. Whatever your circumstances, Elecbrakes system allows you to save these varying configurations to their own program that you can easily switch between using the app, rather than manually choosing the brake response each time.

Real-time Diagnostics

As well as giving you ultimate control of your brake response, your Elecbrakes app valuable real-time diagnostic data. You can see exactly how much amperage is being sent to your brakes, monitor your accelerometer and check the status of your tail light, brake light and auxiliary power connections.
