Pets are considered part of the family. Your four-legged friend is more than just an animal, and it is even more crucial to take assistance animals with you.
A road trip to a coastal camping site could be ideal for taking your pets on holiday, and the trick is to find a holiday park that permits animals on-site. We’ve put together animal-friendly camping and holiday park sites across Australia that proudly state “dogs are welcome.”

There are many pet-friendly holiday parks to set your sights on from New South Wales to Western Australia. You could be staying in the snowy mountains or a glorious beach resort with your dog by your side.

A well-maintained, serene holiday park offers six different pet-friendly cabin styles. Whether you want a luxurious cabin for a group of six or just a cosy space for you, your partner and your pet, they are dog-friendly sites.
Some places even come with spas. You can also pull up with your caravan, and they offer a pool, camp kitchen, playground and BBQ points.
Toowoon Bay holiday park specifies that you are allowed only one dog per group during peak seasons and school holidays. With excellent access to beaches, Toowoon Bay holiday parks in NSW are good places for your pets to enjoy the sun.

Not far from Newcastle, Stockton Beach Holiday Park is a good place to take all the family and pets. With fishing, swimming and surfing to fill your time with, there is no shortage of activities. Or, spend your vacation taking in the stunning views of the waterfront or the nearby sand dunes.
Welcoming a maximum of two pets per booking, Stockton Beach Holiday Park costs between $42 to $66 for the cat, bird, rabbit and dog-friendly camping spots. However, pets are not permitted during peak season, like Christmas and Easter. Other facilities include a kids club, playground and camp kitchen.

One of the family-orientated parks in NSW, they offer a range of activities for the kids. The campsite hosts a range of accommodation, including cabins, villas, glamping, caravan spots and campsites, and this beachfront holiday park has a large variety of options.
The caravan sites cost between $49 to $74 a night with plenty of facilities and amenities. Whilst they don’t allow every pet into the site, they let guide dogs or companion pets in.
Contact them for more information as to whether your pet is allowed. The camping site is currently revising its stance on its “no pets” rule.
Queensland
NRMA Treasure Island Holiday Park

Gold coast pet-friendly accommodations, this Queensland site provides a range of selected cabins, glamping, camping and caravan spots. The facilities include a kids club, bouncing pillow, waterpark, sports amenities and a cinema.
They welcome all dogs, cats and birds in their camping, caravanning and cabins. However, approval for your pet to stay is at the park’s discretion. Pet bookings must be made directly with the park. Pets may also not be allowed during peak seasons or busy weekends.
They have a wide range of villas for up to ten people or caravan spots for up to seven at $67 a night. The large site is perfect for your pet to stretch its legs and explore. They also provide an off-leash dog area for your pet to run wild.

In South East Queensland, this beach holiday park offers a range of cabins, powered and unpowered campsites.
Providing entertainment for all the family, they hire bikes, kayaks, paddleboards and pedal-karts. They even have a skate rink and park. This dog-friendly site is ideal for everyone.
The beach spot is ideal for a sea-breeze holiday and is minutes away from the ocean. Bargara has many tourist attractions, from the Mon Repos Turtle Centre to the Bundaberg Rum Distillery. This coastal town is gorgeous.
They also offer pet-friendly spots, perfect for your whole family’s beach holiday getaway. Your dogs can run the length of the beach and back in their element.

Located in Northern Queensland, the Ingenia Holiday Cairns Coconut park boasts its kid and pet-friendly attitude. There is no shortage of local activities, from the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforest.
Relax for a week in your caravan in vibrant, tropical scenery. The site offers both grassy and concrete camping spots, as well as ensuite options. All caravan spots are pet friendly for you to enjoy with your four-legged family member.
However, there may be dates in the calendar that pets are less welcome. Contact the park reception to see when you can book your pet’s camping trip.
Northern Territory

Offering dog-friendly camping in the Northern Territory, Lakes Resort and Caravan Park welcome small dogs on leads.
Powered camping spots cost $36 a night for two people; unpowered areas cost $25 for two people a night. The camping sites are shady, with grass and concrete options available. You also have the chance to camp by the fish pond.
The campsite offers weekly entertainment onsite. Outside of the caravan park, there are tourist spots such as Berry Springs Nature Park and Litchfield National Park. This Northern Territory area has plenty of green space for your pets to run around.

This stunning campground welcomes pets and has a beautiful outback vibe. There is plenty to do in the area, such as the Mataranka Hot Springs and the Bitter Springs Thermal waters, even off-the-grid.
The caravan sites range from $15 to $50 per night. Facilities include a large pool, spa, camp kitchen and restaurant, and a pet-friendly camping site.
However, they specify that guests must inform them that they are bringing an animal. Pets must be kept on a short lead and cannot be left unattended, which should protect the abundant wildlife in the area.
Pets are charged an extra $30 cleaning fee in the motel rooms but free for campers and caravaners. The site asks for pets to be quiet, and they advise that cane toads are local and poisonous to pets.

The Batchelor Holiday park offers an abundance of walks throughout the Australian outback. With waterfalls and rainforests, there’s no end of nature for you to enjoy.
Camping spots range from powered, unpowered, ensuite, bush camping and undercover camping. This dog-friendly caravan park allows pets in all camping areas.
The copious walking routes, such as the Tabletop Track circuit, are perfect for dogs to enjoy. Prices are available on request. In a natural bush setting, they provide WiFi, a swimming pool, BBQs, and mini-golf.

A large, spacious pet-friendly caravan park, Anglesea Family Caravan Park has specific dog-friendly sites and cabins. There are only two dog-friendly cabins available, and however, there is a larger camping area for families with pets.
Available from February to mid-December, these dog-friendly spots are popular. There is a maximum of two dogs per site, and prices range from $62 to $110.
Offering tourists sites and bush camping, this camping and caravan park has plenty of options available. Within walking distance of some stunning beaches, this park has many dog walking and good pet places. They ask that you follow Surf Coast Shire dog regulations whilst staying with them.

Set in picturesque Victoria, Bright Holiday Park has many waterside caravan and camping sites. They offer a select number of dog-friendly caravan park suites, and you must book your pet’s stay with the park directly.
The cabins do not allow animals, and pets must be kept on leads at all times and cleaned up after. Unpowered pet-friendly sites cost $41 a night, whilst ensuite sites start at $74 a night.
There are some selected dates that animals are not allowed in the park. Each spacious site has room for two cars, BBQ areas and access to amenities.

Breeze Holiday Park lies in the Grampians, set in the picturesque heart of the bushlands. Powered and unpowered pitches range from $33 to $39 per night.
They boast a basketball ring and communal campfires; this park has plenty of activities for everyone in the family to enjoy. While they provide WiFi, their reception is limited.
Offering several pet-friendly sites to stay in and an area for dogs to run around without a leash, the Breeze Holiday Park in the Grampians is family and animal orientated. However, dogs are limited to two per booking.
It would help if you supervised pets at all times, dogs on leads in the park’s area. Breeze Holiday park also warns that dogs are not allowed in Grampians National Park.
South Australia
Adelaide Beachfront Caravan Park

Adelaide Beachfront Caravan Park is a holiday resort in South Australia offering cabins, caravans and tent pitches.
Adelaide Beachfront offers pet-friendly camping. Pets are allowed all year round, at the manager’s discretion. In a dog-friendly cabin, pets must not sleep on beds or in any communal areas around the park.
Dogs must be kept on a lead everywhere in the caravan park. The park offers dog poop bags for you to clean up after your pet.
However, they recommend you bring bedding, a pooper scooper, a water bowl, pet food, a doggy bath and their favourite toy. The park offers beachfront powered caravan sites, powered premium sites, slab sites, grass sites and cabin bookings.

Located next to the Murray River, the Riverbend Caravan Park in Renmark offers family-friendly holidays. They boast they are a pet-friendly caravan site; all dogs welcome.
Pets must be on leads at all times, and you must clean up after dogs. They are not to be left unattended, but the park offers to recommend a local kennel to look after your pet while you go out for the day.
The park has two pet-friendly cabins but stipulates that they might charge an extra cleaning fee. This shady site offers powered camping and caravan pitches for $38 a night.

Not far outside of Adelaide, this park offers cabins, villas and powered camping pitches. They have a camp kitchen, BBQ area, laundry room, pool, play area, and WiFi.
Pets are allowed across the site. Tent and caravan pitches are gravel and range from 5m to 15m and cost around $40 a night.
Local to many exciting tourist attractions, the Adelaide Caravan Park is only 2km outside of Adelaide. Nearby is the Adelaide Botanical gardens, Adelaide Zoo, and the nearby German town of Hahndorf.
Western Australia
Geraldton Belair Gardens Caravan Park

In Western Australia, the Geraldton Belair Gardens Caravan Park is on the Geraldton waterfront. There are pet-friendly powered and unpowered caravan and camping sites across the park for your pet-friendly holiday.
However, they do not allow pets in cabins, and you are charged a $20 refundable deposit for bringing an animal camping with you. The park also stipulates that not all breeds are allowed and recommends you directly contact the park.
Camping sites cost $30 a night. Geraldton Belair Gardens Caravan Park has a playground, games room, camp kitchen and electric vehicle charging points.

Pet-friendly parks in Carnarvon have a range of chalets, cabins, onsite caravans and powered pitches. They offer a camp kitchen, swimming pool, BBQ area and cleaning facilities.
Prices range between $43 to $48 per night for caravan and camping spots. Pets are allowed on site free of charge, and you need to fill out a pet application form first, however.
There is a sizeable off-leash pet area for dogs to run around, and there are many walkways for pets to exercise. They also have a designated washing machine to clean your pets bedding and lease pet cages.

Western Australia’s Jurien Bay Tourist Park has pet-friendly parks and areas. Two hours from Perth, Jurien Bay is well-located for water sports and boating.
Camping and caravanning pitches cost from $30 a night, and you have the option of powered or unpowered — all of which are pet friendly. You must pay pet fees ahead of turning up, and Jurien Bay charges a $20 refundable deposit, and pets can not enter any of the cabins.
Not far outside of the Pinnacles Desert or the Lesueur National Park, there are plenty of activities to engage yourself in throughout your stay.
Summing up
No matter where you want to head off on your next vacation, there is room for your pet in every state of Australia. A caravanning trip is an ideal way to take your animals with you — they will love the chance to explore different corners of the country.
As a general rule, your pet must be healthy, registered and kept on a leash. The larger parks might also ask you to sign a waiver for your pet. The better etiquette you show as a pet owner, the more caravan parks will begin to open their doors to our furry friends.
