The Dolphin Marine Conservation Park has something for everyone with essential educational teachings about protecting marine life. Expert keepers are all around the park, giving talks and answering any questions you may have about marine life. 

You can see near-extinct marine life, including bottle-nosed dolphins, endangered Australian sea lions, little blue penguins, freshwater turtles and local reef fish. 

In addition, you can see in action how the conservation park rescues and rehabilitates endangered species. This marine park is open all day, every day; this marine park is an excellent place for some dolphin spotting.

Forest Sky Pier

The Forest Sky Pier is an architectural wonder. With a sky pier projecting 22 metres above the rainforest, and 15 metres above the treetops, you can see unbeatable panoramic views of the Coffs Coast. 

A scenic drive, ten minutes from Coffs Harbour to see the fantastic views. Even the fifteen-minute drive itself treats you to incredible views of the banana plantations and forest over the hillside.

The Coffs Harbour Muttonbird Island is an ideal destination for walkers. With clear, easy to navigate trails, the walk leads to a lookout where you can find beautiful views over Coffs and the pacific ocean. 

The walk is about 3.5km up a big ascent. Take your time and enjoy the scenery. See if you can see any mutton birds or their nests. There are also informational plaques along the way. The Muttonbird Island nature reserve offers essential educational resources on the Aboriginal cultural significance in the area. 

You can download a self-guided tour on an app to learn more about the local landscape, nature, and cultural history. You might also spot a few whales from the Muttonbird Island lookout.

North Coast Regional Botanic Garden

Boasting the biggest water park between Sydney and the Gold Coast, the Banana Fun Park also has an ice skating rink, toboggan ride, theatre experience, laser tag, mini-golf, the biggest giant slide in Australia and plenty more. 

They even have a candy-making kitchen, opal centre, and cheese-making workshop. Open all day, every day; the Big Banana adventure park is the place to go in Coffs Harbour with kids.

Diggers Beach

The Clog Barn

One of the oldest tourist attractions in Coffs Harbour, attend the Clog Barn on a rainy day to see clogs made before your eyes. You can also see the miniature Dutch village with a working railway for free on your visit. 

With Dutch history and culture all around you, you’ll enjoy your time in the gift shop, taking in all the Dutch items. Plus, make sure you don’t miss the Big Oma’s Coffee House, selling mouth-watering dutch food.

Solitary Islands Aquarium

The Solitary Islands Marine Park is located at the Southern Cross University’s Science Centre. 

With a combination of educational awareness for the local marine environment and an interactive experience with marine life, the Solitary Islands Aquarium is a great experience for adults and children alike.

With a range of aquariums, guided tours and visual displays, there is plenty to do here. You can see colourful crayfish, sea anemones, crayfish, and sea urchins on your visit. 

There are also plenty of games and activities for children while adults can enjoy the science side of their visit with microscopes. Open only on weekends and every day during the school holidays, make sure you time your visit here carefully, so you’re not disappointed.
